This Volkswagen Golf IV retrofit kit contains everything you need to swap your old, blacked-out single-xenon (low-beam xenon only) projectors for powerful new bi-xenon (both low- and high-beam xenon) projectors. Using a custom adapter mounting plate, it makes retrofitting quick and easy. And, most importantly, it will take your Golf to the next level – just check out the test pictures! This is way beyond what the majority of OEM projectors can achieve.
Providing a light output unmatched by most OEM projectors, the new Aharon Optimus TR Mini is the perfect retrofit for your headlight. The design is a development of the proven Mini H1. Featuring a crystal-clear 2.5” lens, it uses D2S bulbs, so you can keep your current bulbs and ballasts. The light height and pattern control will work as usual, too. And as the cherry on top: with all the necessary wiring supplied, you also get an upgrade from single xenon to bi-xenon. The result is incredibly bright lighting – a huge improvement in both high and low beams!
Lastly, this kit provides every single part that you will need for retrofitting. In order to keep the price low, we have however assumed that you will keep your existing xenon HID bulbs. Depending on how old those are, you may want to also order a new set of bulbs to get the most out of your retrofitted system. Xenon bulbs do lose up to 70% of their maximum brightness over time.
This complete Volkswagen Golf IV retrofit kit is inspected by our internal quality control prior to shipping and comes with a solid 2-year warranty. It also includes highly rated technical support from your lighting experts at Retrofitlab.com

This is an intermediate retrofit, but it does not require any special skills or experience. Novice retrofitters will simply need more time to finish. Discounting removal and replacement of the headlights, you could expect the job to take anything from three to five hours.
Installation requires for the Volkswagen Golf IV headlights to be opened, which can be somewhat challenging due to the type of sealing used. You might have to do multiple runs of heating and prying. On the other hand, once the headlights are open, installation of the new projectors, bulbs and ballasts is very straightforward.

The Ford Mondeo MK3 uses the same projector, mounting the projector in the Golf IV is basically the same as in the Mondeo MK3. The video shows the older version of the kit which contained the Mini H1, with the newer kit the Optimus TR mini is used so D2S bulbs can be used, like original
