The KTM 1290 Super Adventure R entered a new generation in 2021, keeping its large-capacity LC8 V-twin character while developing the motorcycle’s off-road focus. The R is the version for riders whose idea of adventure includes rough tracks and journeys beyond the end of the tarmac.
The redesigned platform and WP XPLOR suspension reflect that role, while the upright riding position keeps the motorcycle suited to longer trips as well. It is a substantial touring motorcycle with an emphasis on tackling varied terrain, rather than a road bike dressed in adventure styling.
Lighting details should suit that purposeful design. A compact front and rear indicator set updates the turn signals without changing the motorcycle’s bodywork or replacing the original headlight.
