D2S LED Bulbs: A Modern Replacement for D2S HID Xenon Bulbs
These D2S LED bulbs are designed to replace D2S HID xenon bulbs and can be directly connected to the HID xenon ballast/starter. While they offer some advantages, there are also notable disadvantages to consider.
Advantages:
+ Instant Illumination: Unlike HID bulbs, LED bulbs have no start-up time, providing instant illumination.
+ Modern Technology: LED technology offers a more contemporary white color, enhancing the aesthetic appeal of your headlights.
Disadvantages:
- Light Pattern Issues: The design of LED bulbs, which typically have LEDs on only two sides, can result in an uneven light pattern. HID xenon bulbs emit light at 360 degrees, for which the projector is designed, leading to better light distribution and a clear hot-spot.
- ECE Approval: D2S LED bulbs do not have ECE approval for use on public roads, which can be a legal concern in many regions.
Given these factors, we generally recommend using HID xenon bulbs for optimal performance in HID xenon projector headlights unless you have a specific preference for LED technology.
