Designed by Peter Horbury, the Volvo S40/V40 range firmly established the brand’s prominent position among compact luxury cars. Factory-fitted options included H4, H7 halogen and D2R single-xenon headlights.
Both the halogen and single-xenon versions feature reflectors that produce an average light beam even when new. In many cases, light output has been further compromised as bulb heat and general ageing cause the reflective layers to peel off.
