For Mondeo MK4 headlights we offer three routes. The H7/H1 halogen reflector headlights can be converted to bi-xenon or to a modern Bi-LED projector, and the D1S bi-xenon headlights get a repair & upgrade kit that replaces the worn projector. (There is currently no kit for the halogen projector version.) Each kit fits inside the existing headlights and gives a clearly brighter, sharper beam.

Factory-fitted options included H7/H1 halogen and D1S/H1 bi-xenon headlights, manufactured by Hella or Visteon.

Which bulbs does the Ford Mondeo MK4 use? The bi-xenon headlights use D1S xenon bulbs, and the halogen headlights use H7/H1 bulbs. Looking for replacement bulbs for your bi-xenon headlights? See our D1S xenon bulbs.

The halogen version features a H7/H1 reflector that produces an average light beam even when new. In many cases, its light output has been further compromised as bulb heat and general ageing cause the reflective layer to peel off.

The bi-xenon setup features a 3.0-inch projector, designed in the late 90s. These projectors are known to lose their reflective layer right to the point where they become black inside, causing dangerously low light output.

Winning numerous international awards, including no less than nine Car of the Year titles, the Ford Mondeo concept was originally launched in 1993. This particular model, the Ford Mondeo Mark IV, remained in production between 2007 and 2014. But the lighting technology used in this model is more than 20 years old today.

Needless to say, buying new or used original headlights for your Ford Mondeo MK4 is not recommended. But there is fortunately no need for that. Whether your car was factory-fitted with H7/H1 halogen or D1S/H1 bi-xenon headlights, there are upgrade kits that will fit inside your existing headlights.

These complete retrofit kits not only provide you with superior brightness and durability; they are also more affordable than average Ford Mondeo MK4 xenon headlights with bulbs and ballasts, and since all components are brand new, they come with a 2-year warranty. Additional benefits over OEM headlights include Canbus-proof designs and effortless halogen-to-xenon conversions. What’s more, the levelling systems will work without any adjustments to the headlight connectors, and you can use any ballasts that you might already own to save further on xenon upgrades.
